Madison Avenue style brand marketers loathed Billy Mays, whereas direct marketers actually idolized him. Bill Mays, recently passed away in the summer of this year and was at the young age of fifty.

He was the pot bellied and the black bearded salesperson that would grace one's TV during an infomercial and things of this nature. His voice was described as a loud, shrill and annoyingly exuberant.

Some say he seemed as if he would touch them from inside of the screen and this is due to his professionalism, his presence as well as the mannerisms in which he used to direct his information to the public.
